Fishing Canada for Lake Trout

Wednesday, October 31st, 2007

By Jack Phillips Just the idea of battling a huge lake trout lures anglers to all the remote lakes as far north as the Arctic Circle in Canada. These areas yield many 30 to 40 pound lunker lake trout each year. In some areas in Canada, the lake trout are also called Mackinaw or grey trout, but the most common nickname given lake trout is simply lakers. Lake trout resemble brook trout, except the tails of lake trout are deeply forked, while those of the brook trout are nearly square. Lake trout in the Great Lakes are silvery-grey with white spots. Elsewhere, they have light spots on a background that may vary from dark green to brown or black. Lake trout prefer water from 48 to 54F, colder than any other game fish. They will die if unable to find water under 65 degrees F. During summer months lake trout will descend to 200 feet in search of cooler water. There are many lakes with water cold enough for lake trout, but lack oxygen in their depths. And as a result lake trout are restricted to mainly the cold, sterile lakes of the Canadian Shield, the Great Lakes and deep mountain lakes of the west. Lake trout grow slowly in these frigid waters. In some lakes in Canada, a 10-pound lake trout might be 20 years or older. The age of a trophy lake trout may be 40 years or more. Because they grow so slowly there is always the danger that they could be over harvested. Unlike most other species lake trout spawn in lakes rather than in rivers. Lake trout spawning occurs in the fall over a bottom of baseball to football sized; rocks. Water depth varies, but is usually 5 to 25 feet. Lake trout have excellent vision, but because of the poor light at the depths they live, they rely on their sense of smell and on their lateral line to find food. In some water, they feed mainly on aquatic insects, worms and crustaceans. In other lakes they eat only fish, mainly ciscoes, smelt, and sculpin. A lake trout, brook trout hy-brid, called splake, has been stocked in some northern lakes including Lake Huron. Splake mature earlier than lake trout and grow faster so they are less affected by fishing pressure. Early spring just after ice out, is a great time for lake trout, they crowd into warmer water to feed closer to shore and remain in water 20 to 30 feet deep. When lake trout move into shallow water in the spring and in the fall just before spawning, the best methods are casting with flashy spoons or still fishing with natural baits like smelts and strips of sucker meat. Lake trout shy away from dark heavy lines, so use clear, low diameter line from 8 to 12 pond test is best. Most fishermen prefer medium action spinning tackle. In years past heavy reels and wire line was the standard for catching lake trout in deep water. But now with the new equipment and techniques it is possible to fish deep with much lighter tackle. Downriggers, sonar and technology has made fishing for deep lake trout a lot easier. Deep lake trout are frequently scattered and sluggish, so adding an attractor, such as a dodger can improve your success while trolling. Vertical jigging for lake trout is also a popular method in fishing Canadas north, works best with a lead head jig or vibrating blade. Simply lower the lure to the bottom; then reel it back up rapidly to get that strike. Casting with heavy gold or silver spoons for lake trout is a proven technique when lake trout are concentrated off points, in narrows, along islands or over spawning reefs. Cast from a long distance away to prevent spooking the lake trout. In the Great Lakes the lake trout have made a remarkable come-back after they were nearly wiped out by the sea lamprey and commercial fishing. Lake trout populations have been rebuilt by lamprey controls and restocking programs. These programs have been put in use both in Canada and the United States, both countries have been doing this for some time now and the lakes and anglers are enjoying the fruits of their efforts. There is nothing like the feeling when you hook up with a nice sized lake trout on medium action fishing rig. So get out there and just enjoy nature and catch the trophy lake trout. Jack Phillips has been an avid Canadian angler for over 50 years. Fishing Canada provides solid advice for walleye, bass, pike, muskie, a variety of trout, arctic char bass and more. Idea’s on when and where to go on your next trip to Canada. Ice fishing tips. Delicious fish recipes also! Single? Be married now!

By Laura Matthews Have you ever yearned to find a partner so much you can hardly stand it? I was a single mom with young kids, and I wanted to be a wife so much I could taste it. Trouble is, my “search and acquire” mind-set made me zero in on anyone available. And when a guy did show some interest back, I glommed onto him so hard that he usually made a quick exit. But I knew I had a lot to offer. Why would I feel this intense desire only to have it not be fulfilled? I’ve got a spiritual side, so I took the issue to prayer. It came to me to think of “wifeliness” in terms of qualities rather than in literal wedding-band-on-ring-finger terms. Wifeliness includes things like being supportive, understanding, affectionate, encouraging. As a wife, I’d express teamwork, patience, wisdom. All these qualities are spiritual. Since they’re spiritual, they must have their source in infinite Spirit, or God. If “wifeliness” therefore is an expression of God, I had all I needed to express it right then, because I am created in His image and likeness. Bottom line: I didn’t have to wait until I had a human husband to be able to express these qualities. I realized that I could behave with the qualities of a good wife all the time. I could take the sharing, caring, openness, undivided attention, and unconditional love that I believe a good wife shows her husband into every conversation I had. This conclusion had enormous effect. I began to focus and listen in a “wifely” way every time someone wanted to talk to me. I remember in particular one discussion over lunch at a yacht club in Marina Del Rey (I was living in California at the time). I was with a male friend who I had no romantic interest in, but he still needed to talk. So I gave him 100% in that one conversation. For that lunch, I was his wife. I reasoned with him, encouraged him, showed an interest in his future, expressed my confidence in his abilities. I expressed the qualities I had been yearning to share. Since then, I have had countless such conversations with many people. It’s a skill I’ve brought into my practice as a spiritual healer. And not only does it help others, I have found it to be enormously satisfying to me as well. People also spontaneously began to play the role of “husband” in my life whenever I needed it, being supportive, fun, gallant, even lending a practical hand with heavy lifting on occasion. While I have never found a specific human husband, I have felt like a wife and have been husbanded. When you translate your needs into spiritual ideas, you find nothing is out of reach — it’s all about expressing Spirit. Get A Credit Report And Avoid Bankruptcy

Monday, October 29th, 2007

By Nikola Govorko In case that you have bad credit score and are not really sure how bad your credit score is, you must get a hold of your credit score report. As a regular individual you will have to obtain a duplicate of your credit report sooner or later if you want to be pre approved for a home or a car loan. Receiving a duplicate of your credit report can signify the difference between you being accepted or turn down. Most of people in recent times dont try to verify their credit report when trying to get a loan. That can sometimes be a huge error, and very upsetting one at that. By getting your credit report you should be able to stay completely up to date with your credit score. Usually an exceptional credit score report has a credit score between 700 and 800 points, and that is where your credit score begins. However regular score begins at 650 points and below. Such low credit scores is what keeps many of us from being approved for credit cards, home or car loans. If you plan to have your own home at some point, this is a major difficulty. Those of us savvy enough will get a copy of a credit report prior to seeking a loan of just about any type in order to correct any items stated wrong or to pay back some of the debt in order to get approved easier. By doing this previous to seeking a loan can make all the difference in being approved or rejected. The easiest way to obtain a credit score report is online from companies such as equifax.com. There are many more companies on the web that provide credit reports, all you have to do is type credit report in your favorite search engine and you should get thousands of results. Of course you can also always get one from the government directly. Certain web companies will provide you a no charge duplicate of your credit report, but usually those free duplicates are not very accurate or just not comprehensive enough to completely comprehend them. It is a good investment to buy a good quality copy of your credit report since in that case you can be reasonably certain that the info is accurate. Equifax credit reports are not free but they are one of the most reputable sources of credit reports. In the end you should know that your credit score report is going to be your most important weapon in trying to maintain a good credit score and avoiding bankruptcy. Maintaining a good credit score and regularly checking up on it (beware of identity theft) is your best defense when trying to avoid credit problems and bankruptcy. Obtaining a fresh copy of your credit score report regularly is the best way to correct any and all mistakes that might show up on it and to keep you informed at the exact state of your credit situation. At Debt-Free-Family we are dedicated to help you get out of debt, avoid bankruptcy and enjoy a debt free life. Mortgage Broker Marketing that Gets a Returning Real Estate Agent

Sunday, October 28th, 2007

By Jeffrey Nelson Are you tired of putting time, energy and money into mortgage broker marketing just to end up with an agent that never seems to follow through? Let us say you meet with an agent and feel like you have made a connection. But weeks go by without hearing from that agent. You make follow up calls, it all sounds good, but the agent still does not call, return your calls, or send you clients. What is going on? It sounds like you have just encountered the passive Realtor. A passive Realtor can be incredibly frustrating. But rather than giving up on them, or throwing your valuable time and energy away, by understanding their behavior style, you can develop a positive relationship. Why They Seem Passive When you encounter an agent that seems passive, you are really meeting someone who struggles with change. They want to have a stable environment with few or no problems. They perceive any change to be stressful, so they are often willing to continue to work with someone who offers inferior service, simply because they are uncomfortable with working with someone new. These agents are especially uncomfortable with confrontation. They will go to great lengths to avoid it. They appear to buy in to working with you, but you may not be uncovering their true objection because they go along with anything. Realtors that are passive also avoid fast decision making. They want to take time to evaluate decisions and mull them over for days or months. When you are working at your mortgage broker marketing, this can be frustrating. It feels like you are investing your time without receiving a timely pay out. Misunderstanding Passive Realtors One of the chief problems with working with passive agents is that you take their passivity, their desire to avoid confrontation and general friendliness, as a buy in. You may think you are making progress, when in reality you are not getting anywhere or the agent needs time to process. Be realistic in your expectations when working with these clients. If they already have a strong relationship with a mortgage broker, chances are they will not jump into another relationship with a broker immediately. It may be a long courtship before you gain their loyalty. On the positive side, passive agents are great to work with when it comes to unexpected glitches. They can easily empathize with problems that happen and are not likely to go ballistic. And, once you establish a relationship with them, you can count on them to remain loyal. Communicating More Effectively When focusing your mortgage broker marketing on this type of real estate agent, you need to pursue your relationship differently from other agents. It is best to incorporate a slow, friendly strategy, with lots of small talk and focus on feelings. You are more likely to get their attention when you present information gently and then use a questioning technique to draw out their feelings or problems. Passive agents seek out a relationship; they want a feeling of personal attention, problem solving and excellent customer service. They also want proof of your performance, which can be supported by customer testimonial. The Good News While wooing a passive agent can feel like a lengthy process, on the positive side, they are great team players. They expend effort to make their client relationships positive. They are the agents that are willing to go the extra mile for clients. These positive relationships trickle over to your business, resulting in a repeats and referrals. When you understand how to create a positive environment that is not threatening to the Realtor, you establish a productive and positive relationship. Tailoring your mortgage broker marketing to these Realtors result in a loyal partnership with big pay offs. A Challenge to the Churches

Saturday, October 27th, 2007

By Andy Carloff I offer a challenge to the churches… I challenge that they release their mentality, that they must deal with matters wholly supernatural, and that they offer knowledge with actual relevance to the physical world. That I may go into a church without hearing talk of how the gods see us, what we must do to save our souls, or the thoughts which the immortals have at the moment, to avoid hearing such manifestations of superstition, is one of my challenges to the churches. That they may offer guidance to people in matters of their lives and how they live, instead of condemning and praising, instead of preachery and oratory — I challenge that the churches serve the people in ways that help the people. That they base their foundation in offering moral support of the people, that they may live and work in a way that benefits themselves and their community in the greatest manner. To have services that conform to the needs of the people, instead of trying to conform the people to some divine mandate beyond the reach of any mortal; to hold the belief that a person’s innate nature can never be their own blame; to hold the belief that individuals must travel their own path in life to achieve the happiness they desire — to understand that a person is not just another two needs bent on a pew, this is what I desire of the church. I challenge that the churches offer sympathy and kindliness to all people, whether they worships a different god, many gods, or no god at all. Had I been given power to write the constitution of the hearts of the clergy, I would have the first article dictate that all men are their brothers, that there is no crime that can be committed that would grant them a writ of cruelty to the criminal, that they will close their doors to no man, deny refuge to no soul, hold in contempt any spirit that reaches towards the sanctuary of the inner heart, and the result of inner peace. A man can believe in whatever he wishes, whatever insane ideologies or obscure myths, and he may refer to my own dedicated beliefs in the same manner: they will say it is ridiculous to refrain from eating meat, they will claim it is an absurdity to deny the existence of god, they will state that sex outside of a committed relationship is outlandish. Their opinion is their own, and they have a right to it. Whatever that opinion is, it must be understand that this opinion is held by a person — it is held by a conscious being, one that is not unknown to the torments of misery, one that is not beyond the understanding of happiness, one that knows and feels conflict and suffering, joy and ecstacy. I have known many Christian men who have said that if you take away the beliefs of a man, you have nothing left! Such a creed is founded on the unconventional orthodoxy of religion. I say this: that a person is a person, and no matter what beliefs they have formed about the universe, that they should form them by their own mind’s inquiry and investigation, and that no matter what conclusions they come to, they are to be regarded in a manner that takes into consideration that they are still persons, capable of emotion, just as much as any person. I would have this: that the churches accept and honor every man and woman, regardless of their beliefs. If a person were to sit in the pews of a church and listen to the sermon, for every one hundred words spoken on religion and matters of the unseen, they will hear one word on how to treat their fellow men like their brothers. For every one thousand times the preacher touches upon the topic of how we must respect our father who resides in heaven, he will touch upon once the obligation that we have to respect our brothers and sisters — our family of humanity — who reside on this planet. There are ten less times that a preacher will speak on behalf of those who are mortal than those who are immortal, and one hundred fewer times a preacher will claim our duty to the unseen than to the living and breathing mass of creatures on this planet. I make this challenge to the churches: that instead of being burdens on the community, to become a benefit to their lives. Instead of exerting their energy in such a directionless manner as to demand prayer, do not demand anything; instead, only make pleas with them that they are humane in all their dealings with their fellow men, that they do not destroy the lives of those around them, that to plant flowers of joy on this planet is the greatest of duties. Churches, if you have one humane sentiment, then express it with every manner you have at disposal! That is my challenge to the churches: that they place more emphasis on being humane than being religious. In travelling the United States, my friends and I have seen many glorious churches and temples, but we all confess that there is nothing so enchanting to our soul than that of the cathedral of nature. For every dollar the church puts towards its architectural impressiveness, I challenge that they put ten dollars to feeding the hungry and housing the homeless, that their deeds should impress my heart rather than their buildings sicken my mind. Instead of purchasing another stone, that the height of the tallest church may be increased by just one foot, I challenge the church and all the clergy, that the money goes to buying ten meals, that the unfortunate, neglected, and abandoned may have food for today. Without filling their pockets with the coin of pew-fillers, I challenge the church to reach out to every downtrodden individual, to every oppressed mass, and give them the necessities, so that their existence is not without aid. I challenge the church to do this: to treat the world as its cathedral and spread the wealth, and to abandon its current doctrine, that the world is its cemetery, where things unwanted are to be placed. Before the sun rises and sets again, over a million will still be yearning for the basic needs of life, and over a million will be refused. Instead of preaching on the goodness of god, I demand the churches to call upon the goodness of man, and to show respect and charity to those who have little to live for in this life. Give them not the Bible, but give them food. Teach not of the divine, but teach with actions. I challenge the churches to help end poverty instead of expanding their cathedrals and temples. The world is emerging from a time where societies have become industrial, where a worker is regarded no more than the cogs in the machine he runs, where living has been reduced to the economy of space. For thousands of years, different forms of tyrannies have slowly been overcome, different revolutions have occured in the hearts and minds of men, and slowly as Humanitarian ideals spread, we have struggled to reach the shores of our lives. I challenge the churches this: that no injustice will be overlooked, that there should be a light for those who must presside in the dark, that cruelty and malice are forever to be considered a weakness and not a strength, a vice and not a virtue. I challenge the churches to aid the workers of the world in their struggle to liberate themselves, to give support to Animal Rights and Human Rights activists as they work patiently for the conclusion of Democracy and liberty, to not ask people to reform themselves but to ask them to take part in the reform of society, and reform themselves only insomuch that a better society may be the result of it. That is my challenge to the churches, no matter what nation they hail from, or what people attend it. Unless this challenge is met and bested, I only remain at my conclusion: that a world without churches, is a world with one more virtue. www.punkerslut.com For Life, Punkerslut Punkerslut (or Andy Carloff) has been writing essays and poetry on social issues which have caught his attention for several years. Friend Finders

Friday, October 26th, 2007

By Kristy Annely All of us have had friends from the past that we lost contact with. Whether it is an old classmate, an old boyfriend or girlfriend or an old neighbor, we all have someone we have lost contact with throughout the years. Perhaps it is because you moved away, or changed schools. One day you decide to look at your old pictures or yearbook, and you remember one long lost friend. You decide that you want to get in contact with them again after years of no communication. If this is you, then you may be asking yourself whats the first step in locating a long lost friend. Todays advanced information technology will actually make it easy for you to find your friend. There are many websites on the Internet you can go to for help. Some websites specialize in creating a database of all high schools and colleges. These websites organize people in categories of where they graduated from, and what year they graduated in. They are a good place to start when you want to look for former classmates. If you know the general area where your friend may have settled, you may want to try looking them up in the online white pages. This is an easy way to get a persons phone number and address. All of the websites for finding lost friends requires the user to become a member of that website. Using the white pages may have a higher probability of success in finding your friend. The only problem with the white pages is the possibility of your friend being unlisted. Todays world is an information-based society, where anything you need can usually be found. If you keep trying, and use the tools in your disposal you will succeed in your task. Friends provides detailed information on Friends, Friend Finders, Friends Reunited, Best Friend Poems and more. Diabetes and the Obesity Risk Factor

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Rita_Lambros-Segur,_M.H.] Rita Lambros-Segur, M.H. There is a far tighter relationship between type2 diabetes and obesity than an interesting statistic equivalent raise. That 80% of type2 diabetes sufferers are overweight or obese suggests a strong link on its own merits. The prevalence of type2 diabetes has skyrocketed in the past 30 years, statistics revealing a somewhat similar percent in the alarming rise of obesity during this same period. In fact studies have proven beyond doubt that the onset of type 2 diabetes may be dramatically delayed with an active healthy lifestyle plan. The 10 million American people considered in the high risk group of people likely to develop type2 diabetes can lower their chances of becoming sufferers of typ2 diabetes with a recommended diet and exercise plan as according to the findings of a large scale clinical trial conducted by the Indiana University school of medicine and 26 other participating nationwide medical centers. The results were so conclusive that the trial was ended early. Subjects selected for the trial were selected from a broad spectrum of the population likely to develop diabetes. Namely people who were overweight with impaired glucose intolerance, a condition that often preceded type2 diabetes. Other subjects included individuals aged over 60, women with a history of gestational diabetes, and people with a close blood relative with type2 diabetes. Participants assigned to the lifestyle intervention plan, maintaining active physical exercise for just 30 minutes a day recorded a reduction in the likelihood of developing this disease by a staggering 58%. Adding weight to further support the suggested link between type2 diabetes and obesity is research conducted by a team of scientists from the Pennsylvania school of medicine. The team had been investigating why a class of drugs, thiazolidinediones (TZDs) were effective in combating diabetes. The findings indicated that TZD drugs are likely to be have been successful by targeting a hormone. Is there a link between diabetes and obesity? Recent studies suggest an answer to this pertinent question. Scientists led by Michale Lazar, at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, had been examining why a class of drugs called thiazolidinediones (TZDs) can help fight diabetes. They discovered that TZDs cause the bodys cells to utilize insulin more efficaciously, and this told them that the TZD drug could be targeting a hormone. The hormone called resistin is produced is produced by fat cells in mice. This same hormone is present in humans. Speculation suggests that the hormone resistin has evolved to deal with periods of famine. When resistin levels were lowered the mice tested recovered the ability to transport glucose though their systems. Important in establishing the link between type2 diabetes and obesity was the finding the finding that high levels of resistin were present in mice obese from overeating. Over a decade of research on diabetes has found that nutrients in the body such as glucose and fat contribute to insulin resistance. Experts do not indicate that being overweight causes type2 diabetes, but the chances of developing the disease are more likely for overweight persons. Individuals may better prevent type2 diabetes with improved lifestyle activity and a more careful nutrition plan. Online Communities - A Marketers Wildest Dream and Worst Nightmare!

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007

By Ralph Ritoch Online Communities are all over the Internet and attract lots of visitors which make them ideal for marketing. People participating in these communities share information about whatever they want under various topics. Some of these discussions get very heated while others go by nearly un-noticed. Spammers have made their mark in these communities by making many of these forums unbearable to legitimate marketers. Informational posts that are commercial in nature are often “Flamed” as being advertisements, solicitations, or even spam. This can easily discourage a new marketer, and possibly even destroy their career. The online community at www.eSpiritCommunications.Com is one acception. They have taken the “Flame” away by creating a online community for marketers, business owners, and consumers. The environment is friendly, and everyone posts and reads what they want in the forums. There are no “Bullies” running around because the rules allow advertising in appropriate categories. The nightmare for marketers in online communities are the flamers. Flamers are the people who regularly post complaints, and start arguments in the community. Some of them are simply marketers with ads in the electronic signatures on their messages who go around flaming every commercial message. These people do it to get more attention for themselves and their business. Most online communities seem to condone this flaming, and go as far as banning anyone who posts an article which gets significant flaming. Flamers often become top posters in communities and are given “authoritative privileges” to change messages, and sometimes even ban “offenders” from the community. What makes the situation worse for marketers is most of these events are made public. Many moderators brag of their actions as the last post in a thread of messages and lock the topic so no one else can post to it. These message threads can remain online for years and leave permanent damage. Some of these threads show up on search engines for obscure search terms which don’t get much attention, but enough to cause alarm. Few marketers would want to see an article they posted get flamed and the entire conversation in top listings on search engines. This is a marketing nightmare! There is a fine line between “Advertising” and “Corporate news”. This line is so small that any marketer in a forum is constantly on the edge of a public relations nightmare. The danger is that these discussions don’t go away quickly. They are often archived, staying on the net for years and getting thousands of visitors. This permanent scar can seriously limit a marketers ability to spread important information with others in various industries. eSpirit Communications deals with this problem by providing a classifieds section of the community for pure advertisements. At www.eSpiritCommunications.Com it is up to the marketer to decide if the information they’re posting is an advertisement or news. A marketers “Dream” is to reach their target audience. Forums have been attracting visitors for years, but these new communities offer a little bit more. They tend to be part of a larger service, have a more general “theme”, and more features. eSpirit Communications is a communications and web development company which implemented an online community for businesses, advertisers, and the average consumer. The community has a wide range of topics covering many industries and a fast growing member base. Unlike search engine ranking which can take months to produce web site traffic, these quality posts generate traffic within hours and in some cases, seconds. This is the “Marketers dream”, an instant targeted audience for their marketing messages. This makes online communities an important marketing and information resource. eSpirit Communications is revolutionizing online communities. As more people use their online community the amount of quality information is increasing. The consistent growth in the number of members in the community shows that information and advertisements can stand side-by-side without driving away visitors. As more online communities revise their terms of service to allow advertisements these communities should become much more valuable resources to both businesses and consumers. Trade Show Handouts that Stick Around After the Show

Sunday, October 21st, 2007

By Rick Hendershot When planning your trade show marketing program, one of the important things to consider is the series of handouts you will make available to your booth visitors. Full color printed materials are by far your best bet when it comes to trade show handouts. But how do you maximize the impact of such a traditional item? You’ve spent significant money on staff training, beautiful graphics, and a professionally designed display. The traffic is pouring through your booth. But will they still remember you tomorrow? Let’s face it, you only have two chances to make your message stick with your booth visitors: your follow-up strategy, and your handouts. Will your handouts make it past the waste basket? Are they an integral part of your follow-up strategy? Let’s be clear here. We’re not talking about handing out sexy things like cds, yoyos, ball caps, t-shirts, or beer mugs. Those things have their place, but this is not it. Right now we’re talking about getting a piece of product literature into the hands of your prospects and hoping it doesn’t get chucked into the garbage can just outside the exhibition hall. ** Why product literature? Product literature is always the “go to” handout because printed pieces of paper or card stock are cheap. And done correctly they can be more effective, have more staying power, and certainly communicate more about your actual product than things like hats or pens. So what makes a memorable piece of product literature — one that a prospective customer will keep? Here are a few suggestions. ** Don’t be cheap when it comes to graphic design A cheap one colour flier may save you money in the short run, but it is much more likely to be pitched into the waste basket. On the other hand, you probably don’t need an expensive multi-page brochure. The first one is “underkill”, and the second is “overkill”. Do an attractive, simple advertising piece that has catchy graphics and a clear statement of “the pitch”. ** Use full colour and use striking photographs Create a striking headline and don’t just do a description of the product. Create a “benefit-rich” statement that focuses on some significant customer-oriented benefit of your product. For example, you can create a headline that says “Powerful Front End Loaders from Mega Loaders”, or you can say, “Get the Job Done in Record Time for Half the Price.” Which one would you look at? ** Content matters - make a substantial offer By content we mean the pitch…the offer. Create an offer they cannot discard or ignore. Give something substantial away if they fill in an inquiry form. Or tie your offer in with your website. Create a valuable special offer they can only access online. Put it in the form of a “valuable coupon”, something like this: “Get $40 off your next purchase when your register on line.” This encourages your prospects to keep the handout, and also encourages them to respond by going to your website and having another close look at your special offer. What could be better? An automatic followup strategy. ** Give them something they will keep Often a business card is the best. Everybody keeps business cards. Often we keep them long after the person has left the company or the company has ceased to exist. Most of us have a little (or big) pile of business cards. And some of us have a drawer full of them. A few of us even have them carefully sorted in a Rolodex. Make your business card stand out from the crowd. Spend a little extra and do it in full color. Put a photo of your product on it, or use a striking photo that illustrates the benefits of your product. This says “credibility” — “this company is for real”. In other words, business cards — especially full color cards — are good. You might even consider a “double whammy” full color perforated post card / business card combination. The 3.5″ x 6″ (or whatever) postcard contains a coupon type offer, and the attached (perforated) business card can be neatly torn off and kept in your pile, drawer, or Rolodex. Remember to make your printed handouts memorable, creative, and substantial and enough people will keep them to pay you back many times over for the bit of extra cost involved. Secured Loans Overview

Saturday, October 20th, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Joseph_Kenny]Joseph Kenny One of the most popular ways of borrowing money is through a secured loan. What secured means is that some property, such as a house, is used to guarantee the loan. If you fail to meet repayments, this security is taken by the lender. Although any property can be used to secure a loan, the most common types for personal loans are houses or automobiles. Most of the lending occurring right now in Britain will be on a secured basis. It appears that consumer lending in 2005 will be slightly less than 2004. Borrowing is still high, but it appears as if consumers are making an effort to keep borrowing more under control. Mortgage loans are constitute the bulk of lending. Home equity loans are also very common. The difference between a mortgage and a home equity loan is that a mortgage is borrowed to buy a house, and it is also secured over the house. A home equity loan is when you already own a house, so you borrow for another purpose but still secure the loan over your house. Secured loans are so popular for a number of reasons. While there are risks high risks to secured loans there are also great benefits. Benefits of a secured loan It is easier to be approved for the loan. The amount borrowed can be much higher. The interest rate will be a lot lower. The terms will be less onerous as for unsecured borrowing. However the major risk is that if you fail to keep up with repayments, the security, which will usually be your home, is at risk. The lender can sell your home to get the value of their loan back. Such a risk needs to be considered very seriously. Losing ones home is the ultimate financial penalty. While there are safeguards, and your home will not be repossessed without a court order, the end of the line is repossession. Likewise, auto finance is typically secured over the vehicle you are seeking to buy. If you fail to make your car payments, the vehicle, which may be the only form of transportation you have, will be repossessed. There are also a number of long term consequences to defaulting on a loan. While borrowing on a secured basis will give you access to more credit at better rates, all borrowing does ultimately depend on your credit report. The better your past behavior and credit rating, the more willing banks and other lenders will be to taking you on as a creditor. If you have a poor credit rating, you should consider borrowing a small amount and paying it off properly to improve your rating. This will put you in a better position when it comes to the really big purchases of life such as a new house.
